Dialogue Simple Past & Present Perfect Tense

Simple Past Tense

The simple past tense is used to talk about an event that happened at the end and ended at the end in a specific time. Sentences in the simple past tense are marked by a second verb (verb2) which indicates the end time.

            -) Verbal Simple Past Tense

            Positive      : Subject + Verb2 + Object   

                 Negative         Subject + did + not + verb1

                 Interrogrative  : Did + Subject + Verb1


Present Perfect Tense

Present perfect tense is a form of verb used to express an action or situation that started in the past and is still continuing until now or has been completed at a certain point in time in the past but the effect is still ongoing.

               -) Verbal Present Perfect Tense 

                    Positive         : I/You/We/They/he/she/it + have/has + verb 3

                    Negative       : I/You/We/They/he/she/it + have/has + not + verb 3

                    Interrogative : Have/has + I/You/We/They/he/she/it + verb 3

Keyla : "Hei, Hana. Happy New Year!."

Hana  : "Happy New Year too, Keyla."

Keyla : "How was your new year celebration?."

Hana  : "It was fun. My family and I camped on a hill."

Keyla : "Woah. What were the activities?."

Hana  : "There were many outdoor activities."

Keyla : " Who managed the camp activities?."

Hana  : "The company where my father works. How was your new year celebration?."

Keyla : "It was same as last year."

Hana  : "Oh, That's okay. Next time come on vacation with me."

Keyla : "Really? May I join?."

Hana  : "Absolutely yes! You're my best friend."

Keyla : "Aww, Thank You Hana."


- Indonesian Version

Keyla : "Hei, Hana. Selamat tahun baru!."

Hana  : "Selamat tahun baru juga, Keyla."

Keyla : "Bagaimana perayaan tahun barumu?."

Hana  : "Itu menyenangkan. Aku dan keluarga camping di sebuah bukit."

Keyla : "Woah. Disana ada aktifitas apa saja?."

Hana  : "Disini banyak kegiatan diluar ruangan."

Keyla : " Siapa yang mengatur kegiatan perkemahan?."

Hana : "Tentu saja ya! Kamu adalah sahabatku."

Keyla: "Aww, terima kasih Hana."


Dialogue Present Perfect Tense

Soobin   : "Hi Yeonjun, I haven't seen you for ages. Where have you been?."

Yeonjun : "Hi Soobin. I have just visited my granny."

Soobin   : "How is your grandma now?"

Yeonjun : "She is fine. She is in my house now."

Soobin   : "Really? How long has she been here?."

Yeonjun : "She has been here for five days."

Soobin   : "Oh I see, Send my warm regard to your granmother."

Yeonjun : "I will send it to her. Thank you soobin."

Soobin   : "You're welcome."


- Indonesian Version

Soobin : "Hai Yeonjun, sudah lama aku tidak bertemu denganmu. Kemana saja kamu?"

Yeonjun: "Hai Soobin. Saya baru saja mengunjungi nenek saya."

Soobin: "Bagaimana kabar nenekmu sekarang?"

Yeonjun : "Dia baik-baik saja. Dia ada di rumahku sekarang."

Soobin: "Benarkah? Sudah berapa lama dia di sini?."
